Alex
Crowfoot is the composer, multi-instrumentalist,

BEN
FAIRWEATHER /
ENS
|
Ben
Fairweather is an enviously young electronic producer
and ex-philosophy student from Brisbane. His recording
alias Ens beguiles many with it's distinctive juxtapositioning
of dark against light, the organic against digital.
Dexterous programming and a unique sense of melodic
invention sees his productions mood-swing between sublimely
chilled surf-soundtracks and uneasy knife-edge tensions,
fusing the modern cut-up aesthetic of Ninja Tune with
jazz greats like Billy Cobham and Miles Davis. His music
has therefore underscored anything from a noir-ish musical
theatre show, to a psychologist's home meditation programme!
Album reviewers gushed over his surprising debut LP
Warp and Weft, many commenting on the sublime production
and old-Hollywood style black and white moods.
Credits Include:
short films Nanaon No Senritsu aka Seven Scales
[Japan, prod. Yusuke Hayamizu], Suite to Evil
[prod/dir. Conan Fitzpatrick], stage productions Frankenstein
[Nash Theatre, Qld] and Audio-Noir [Studio, Sydney
Opera House], instructional recording Mindfulness
Meditations [John Barter], numerous compilation
appearances inc. Music For Film: Cults Classics Curios
[Sydney Film Festival] and a recent remaking
of the James Bond theme. |
