The Groovescooter Show and Jumping The Gap are weekly journeys through mod-groove, funk, jazz, disco, Latin, Afrobeat, reggae, ska, psychedelia, film music, downbeat, post-rock, dub, electro, innovative hip hop... ... In fact anything bending our ears from around the globe, usually with a [sometimes loose] connection to groove.

To tell us about your music or new release, or to ask about something you've heard on the show, get in touch by zapping us an email (see below). We play CDs, vinyl and unreleased CDRs which can be sent directly to us with a bio and contact details [PO Box 127, Edgecliff NSW 2027].

Selectors Georgie and Paris started The Groovescooter show in 1997 as a weekly program on Eastside Radio. It was the precursor to the Groovescooter label which began in 1999. The Groovescooter Show is now in its second decade and continues in 2009 with an alternating roster of selections from originators Georgie and Paris, long-time pillion and global gatherer James Locksmith (Middlesize, Djembe!, Turntables On The Harbour) and our new 2009 contributor, Gordon 'Savage Gee' Watson (Yum Yum, Skull Sessions, Departure Loungee). Early in 2009 DJ Toon (Tiki Two) exited The Groovescooter show stage-left to start his own conga-line at the same time on Wednesday evenings. Toon's new show is called The Vinyl Frontier. Paris also has his own weekly show called Jumping The Gap on Sydney's 2SER, which you can stream via the world wide web at 2ser.com.

If you like what you hear on the show or on Eastside Radio and 2SER generally, we'd encourage you to subscribe and support independent, community based radio (links below).

Georgie and Paris from Groovescooter have also hosted programs on SBS Radio (Alchemy), 2SER (guest hosts for Back To Funk), provided mixes for Triple's MixUp and also hosted The Album Show on FBI, where they presented an array of albums from September 2003 through to June 2005, every Wednesday at midday. Due to other commitments, they are no longer hosting The Album Show, but you can check out an archive of the albums featured right here.
