Elevator | CD Single
With Bonus Remixes

1997 single from the recently downsized Society band, featuring two “acid-jazz” era tracks penned and performed by Groovescooter’s Georgie and Paris. The original title track is coupled with a raft of remixes and the bonus jazz-not-jazz bebop-potenentialist tune Purportedly To Be.Recorded at Skylab Studios in Sydney by Colin Wright, the remixes come from future Sneaky Sound System cohort Peter Dolso and longtime friend Mark Douglas (Movida). Guest players include percussionist Sylvia Johns, drummer David Kirby and Kiwi rhythm guitarist Stuart Tume. The video for Elevator was filmed in a vintage lift at Queer Screen’s old headquarters on Oxford St and launched at the old Martin Place Dendy with MCs The Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence.
