★★★★  “A refusenik DIY anti-rock-doc.” Mojo Mag

With a healthy respect for Wu-Tang Clan and an even healthier disrespect for Tories, capitalism, celebrity and pop culture, working class East-Midlanders SLEAFORD MODS rip into the status quo armed with little more than a microphone, a laptop and a beer crate. Groovescooter present the Australian Premiere of Christine Franz‘s unpretentious roc-doc Bunch of Kunst, the story of a British duo who have gone from bedroom, to pub, to playing in front of big crowds (like that trajectory derailing show at Glastonbury) and eventually signing a control-maintaining deal with Rough Trade. Often funny, but also revealing, it shows the indie/DIY ethic is still alive and well.]

• Irish News: “Essential documentary“ • Scotsman on Sunday 4STARSOne of the most entertaining music docs of recent years” • Total Film 4STARSInvigorating“ • Dazed & Confused “Six fearless new documentaries you need to see” • Little White Lies “25 new films by female directors you need to see” • Radio Times 4STARS “Just like the Sleafords themselves, Christine Franz’s film is unpretentious and unfiltered, and it brilliantly captures the momentum and excitement of a band as they make their breakthrough.” • Outline Mag Norwich “By turns hilarious and inspiring, you would need a heart of stone not to be pumping your fist in the air at times”.
