BLACK CROW JANE
INGA LILJESTROM

The 4th studio long-player from inimitable songstress Inga Liljeström was recorded with a new band whilst living in France, and has a rockier heart than the noir-inspired electronics of earlier albums. From the frenetic rush of The Rain and The Sea or the chokingly claustrophobic capture-then-release of Mascara Black, to the primordial voodoo of His Thieving Ways and the thrilling epic dramatics of closer Rama, Black Crow Jane also hints at the rustic mountain-top folk pickings of album number five in tender tunes like Lovers Gun and Wildest Horse. It’s a see-saw, rocking-horse journey – just like the one that found Inga living outside of Paris far away from her island home. Hold on to your hair, Inga has grown wings, swooped up a kinetic band of European players and together they’re on fire leaping off cliffs to the liberating, cleansing water below.
