ECCO HOMO
On 21 February 2016 at Event Cinemas George St, Queer Screen and Groovescooter present the Sydney Premiere of the latest film from directors Richard Lowenstein + Lynn-Maree Milburn: Ecco Homo. From the team behind the wonderful Autoluminescent: Roland S. Howard, it’s another artistically rendered story of an Australian creative outsider, this time provocateur and queer chameleon, Troy Davies. From his music and video work with/corruption of Hunters & Collectors, Michael Hutchence, Ollie Olsen, Big Pig‘s Sherine, Deckchairs’ John Clifford (remember Motorcycle Baby?) and others, to his numerous artistic endeavours… the documentary takes us from the set of cult classic Dogs In Space, through Sydney drag clubs, and ultimately right into the darkly troubled rooms of a family home full of unspeakable secrets. A life lived to the fullest with full-on and often heartbreaking outcomes.
Richard Lowenstein and producer Maya Gnyp will also be joining us in the cinema for a Q&A.
