With a cast that includes Mary J. Blige, Stevie Wonder, Ricky Gervais, Naomi Campbell, Elton John and of course George Michael himself, Groovescooter are happy to have sourced this new Director’s Cut for local audiences. The time seems right for Sydney fans to celebrate the singer’s life, given the court case about the vandalising of the St George mural has now concluded happily.

Revealing and visually captivating, George Michael Freedom: The Director’s Cut is the iconic gay singer-songwriter’s final project and labour of love. Michael co-directs and narrates this wall-to-wall music autobiographical documentary which charts his meteoric rise to pop stardom alongside finding the love of his life in Brasil. The film concentrates on Michael’s unforgettable music but also delves into personal factors that influenced his creative output. A must-see for fans and pop music devotees alike, it highlights his considerable studio talents as well as his remarkable voice. As Stevie Wonder quips in the film: “George Michael is white??!!“.
