Georgie Zuzak: Solo Exhibition
A Street Near You

MAY 2008
TAP GALLERY – DARLINGHURST

All art works sold-out

Strongly inspired by her attachment to urban surroundings and aerial landscapes, Groovescooter label manager Georgie Zuzak‘s first solo exhibition of over 25 large-scale paintings and other works was presented at Darlinghurst’s Tap Gallery in May 2008. There is a profound sense of balance to her compositions with strong elements of colour, shape, design and texture. Entitled A Street Near You, the majority of works on display focused on collage (painted canvas “remixed” onto canvas). In 2008, Georgie was the Winner of Frankston’s 6 Degrees Art Prize, and Victoria’s Cube 37 Prize and the Walker Street Gallery Art Prize. Her works have also won a number of other prizes over the years and have featured in numerous group exhibitions including Queensland’s Prometheus Art Award Exhibit (finalist), A Thousand Words (Defina + Nancarrow Gallery, Sydney), Art Traders Gallery Sydney and Groovescooter’s own recurring exhibition ArtGroupie which has been staged at various venues. In 2010, her second solo show More Paintings About Buildings & Roads was presented by St Vincents Exhibition Space, Sydney.
