American soul-RnB vocalist QUINN DEVEAUX is in Sydney this month and will be doing an intimate, free, solo show in The Hollywood Hotel’s gorgeous Doris Lounge on Weds July 19th.

Raised in Indiana, but finding his spiritual home in San Francisco, it’s said golden-tonsilled DeVeaux was baptized by Ray Charles, Al Green and working-man storyteller Bill Withers. Whether out front of his Blue Beat Review, collaborating with The California Honeydrops for 2022’s 7″ vinyl single Very Best Thing / Take You Back, exploring Americana with his alter-ego Flamingo Dores, or going at it solo on releases like This Could Be Yours, DeVeaux’s writing and performance skills are ever-swelling. At times taking inspiration from the Chess Records treasure chest, but equally appealing to fans of modern-day soul labels like Daptone or Big Crown Records, DeVeaux has been building on the momentum following the release of his Nashville recorded LP Book of Soul, which found him entering a particularly prolific period, seemingly plucking a wide variety of songs from the air. “I write everyday and it’s a puzzle that gives me so much joy to assemble,” explains DeVeaux. “The songs already exist and they’re just waiting to be revealed.” In Australia for a quick trip without his band, Quinn DeVeaux will be in solo mode for this Sydney show, so we invite you to come on down and get acquainted with his gorgeous voice.
