Our first cassette release since the early ’90s, this mixtape release is to celebrate our 21st Birthday and we’re kinda giving it away ($5 to cover postage to anywhere in Oz).

Focussing on the 1980s and the bands/period when Australia began to break free of the pub-rock headlock, with a new generation of bands embracing synthesizers and drum machines/electronic drums while taking their cues from the Stateside disco/soul/boogie/r’n’b scenes and the newer European strains of electronic dance music. When the folks behind Groovescooter first began playing in bands in the ’80s, these were the artists we looked up, saw live and shamelessly emulated.

The cassette has 2 x 30 minute DJ mixes – one by Melbourne’s DJ Mr Lob, the other by Groovescooter – PLUS when you grab a copy you get a download pack of 20+ edits by folks like Inxxxwel, Hober Mallow, DJ Soup, Meem, Sophie Forrest, Pecoe, Drox, Benny Hinn, Down Under Disco, JR Dynamite, Sam McNiece, SLMDNK, Mondrian Forgery and others.

And you get stickers, or you can opt for a T-Shirt pack with the great cassette cover design by Daniel Robertson on the front.
